Ingredients

4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. milk, scalded
1/2 tsp. vanilla
nutmeg
9-inch pastry shell
1 c. shredded coconut
Preparation

Combine eggs, salt and sugar.
Add milk and vanilla.
Pour into pastry shell and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Cover top with coconut.
Bake in very hot oven (450\u00b0) for 10 minutes.
Reduce temperature to 325\u00b0 and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
