Famous Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
3 c. oats (uncooked)

Preparation

Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy.
Sift flour, salt and soda; add to cream mixture and blend well.
Stir in oats; drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
