Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick margarine
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 small can coconut
1 c. nuts, chopped (pecans)
5 egg whites, beaten
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 stick margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream margarine and shortening; add sugar and beat until smooth.
Add egg yolks and beat well.
Combine flour and soda. Add to cream mixture alternating with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla; add coconut and chopped nuts.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake in a 3 (8-inch) pans, greased and floured.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
