Banana Split Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    2 c. sugar
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 c. coconut
    1 pkg. vanilla pudding
    5 bananas
    1 large Cool Whip
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    a few chopped cherries
Preparation
    Mix cake according to directions, with the exception of using milk instead of water.
    Bake in a 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Bring to a boil the pineapple and sugar.
    When cake is done, punch holes in it and pour pineapple mixture over cake.
    Let set long enough to cool.
    Mix pudding according to package directions with the exception of leaving out 1 cup of milk.
    Mix softened cream cheese and pudding with mixer.
    Spread over top of pineapple mixture on cake.
    Slice bananas over cake.
    Sprinkle with coconut, pecans and cherries.
