Rum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 Tbsp. rum flavoring
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time beating and mixing thoroughly.
    Sift flour, salt, soda and baking powder; add buttermilk and rum flavoring.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into tube pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
