Heavenly Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 large white onions, cut in rings and halved
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded
    10 slices French bread, both sides buttered (slice 1/4-inch thick and use more if needed)
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 c. milk
    2 tsp. soy sauce
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Butter bread on both sides. Saut onions in 2 tablespoons butter. Butter 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Layer mushrooms, onions, cheese and bread. Mix soup, milk and soy sauce and pour over top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
