Pecan Thins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter
    1 stick margarine
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. plain flour
    1 egg, separated
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. pecans, finely chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add flour.
    Add egg yolk and vanilla. Batter will be stiff.
    Spread as thin as possible on 2 cookie sheets.
    Lightly beat egg white.
    Spread on top and sprinkle with nuts.
    Press in with hand.
    Bake 1 hour at 275\u00b0 or lower.
    Remove from oven and cut into squares immediately.
    Freeze well.
