Grandmother'S Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. cherries (canned cherries), drained and save juice
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and beating until smooth.
    Pour batter into greased baking dish and put fruit on top.
    Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar on top.
    Pour on juice over all.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
