Russian Eggs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 eggs
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 large onion, sliced
    seasoning (Tabasco, garlic, oregano)
    8 slices white bread
    cooked bacon, ham or sausage
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    2 cans mushrooms, drained
    4 tomatoes, diced
    sharp Cheddar cheese slices
Preparation
    Beat eggs and season to taste.
    Simmer pepper and onion rings until tender-crisp.
    Line well-oiled 9 x 12-inch pan with bread slices.
    Cover bread with meat and layer vegetables (except tomatoes) over meat.
    Pour eggs over all.
    Press down.
    Let stand overnight.
