Vegetarian Chili With Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can Great Northern beans, drained
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained), cut up
    3/4 c. green pepper, chopped
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 c. water
    2 c. hot, cooked rice
Preparation
    Combine kidney beans, Northern beans, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, pepper, onion, chili powder, sugar, basil, garlic and water in a large saucepan.
    Bring to boiling and reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Top each serving with 1/2 cup rice.
    Serves 4.
