Geneva'S Coffee Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. hot coffee
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chocolate chips (or raisins)
1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and beat thoroughly.
Add the hot coffee.
Mix well. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Stir into the egg mixture, blending well.
Add the chocolate chips and nuts.
Pour into a greased jelly roll pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
While still warm, frost with a powdered sugar glaze.
