Ingredients

3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

In mixing bowl, measure 1 1/2 cups flour and remaining ingredients.
In mixer beat 1 minute, then stir in remaining flour to make soft dough.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Roll out 1/2-inch thick and then fry in deep fat fryer with oil at 370\u00b0.
Makes 24.
