Fish Chowder(5 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter, margarine or bacon drippings
    2 medium onions, sliced
    2 c. water
    2 medium potatoes, diced
    2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. frozen fish fillets, defrosted and cut in 1-inch cubes
    3 c. milk
Preparation
    Melt butter, margarine or bacon drippings in large saucepan. Add onion slices and cook until light yellow.
    Add water, diced potatoes, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are slightly soft when tested with a fork. Add fish and simmer for 25 minutes.
    Add milk and heat, stirring occasionally.
    Serve in hot soup bowls accompanied with large, round crackers.
