Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, cut in 1/4-inch slices
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    3 pt. vinegar
    4 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
Preparation
    Mix the lime with the 2 gallons water and pour over cucumbers. Let stand 24 hours.
    Stir often, but gently.
    Stir these several times so the lime mixes with the cucumbers.
    Rinse well; cover with clean, cold water.
    Let stand for 4 hours; drain well.
