2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. oil
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
nuts (optional)
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1/3 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar, sifted
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Mix together sugar and flour.
Boil cocoa, water, butter and oil; mix in flour and sugar.
Add eggs.
Stir baking soda into buttermilk.
Add to batter, along with nuts (if desired).
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Frost while hot.
