French Bread Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 to 1/2 c. butter
    2 large onions, sliced thin
    1/2 (1 lb. size) loaf French bread
    6 large tomatoes, sliced thin
    2 Tbsp. chopped basil
    3 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation
    Saute onions 3 to 4 minutes.
    Butter casserole and layer, starting with French bread with grated cheese last of layers. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
