Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
    1/2 stick margarine (room temperature)
    1/2 c. chopped onion (optional)
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 c. sour cream
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Mix.
    Pour into large baking dish.
    Top with mixture of crushed corn flakes or potato chips and melted butter.
    Cover. Bake at 400\u00b0
    for 1 hour.
    Leave, covered, until last 10 to 15 minutes.
    This can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before cooking.
