Hamburger-Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 onion
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    2 to 3 Tbsp. butter
    3 to 4 medium potatoes
    1/4 lb. Velveeta cheese
    1/3 c. water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook meat lightly in skillet; put in casserole.
    Chop onion and place on meat.
    Peel and slice potatoes thinly, cutting crosswise.
    Place in casserole on top of the meat and onion.
    Put slices of butter on top.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Add water to soup and heat in skillet with some of the grease.
