Mom'S Soft Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool (do not drain). In mixing bowl, cream shortening.
Gradually add sugar and eggs and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients.
Gradually add to cream mixture and blend thoroughly.
Stir in nuts and raisins.
Drop by teaspoonful 2-inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 14 minutes.
