Ingredients

12 pods of okra (more or less; do not use too small or too large pods)
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
cooking oil
flour
Preparation

Cut okra into 1/4-inch slices.
Beat egg with the milk.
Bring cooking oil to hot temperature as for French fries.
Sift flour in pan.
Dip 5 or 6 slices in milk mixture. Drop in flour, roll, then put in hot oil. Work fast and drop in oil at once. Fry until light brown. Drain on paper towel.
Salt and serve warm.
