Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Melt chocolate with shortening.
    Stir until smooth.
    Set aside to cool.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat eggs with sugar until thick.
    Add flour mixture, chocolate mixture and vanilla to egg mixture.
    Turn into pan; top with nuts (if desired, half of nuts can be added to batter).
    Bake for 25 minutes or until done.
    Cool in pan; cut.
    Makes 16 squares.
