Methodist Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium heads shredded cabbage
    1 Tbsp. salt
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    3 green peppers
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 bunch celery and leaves, chopped
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 c. shredded carrots
Preparation
    Add cabbage and salt and let stand for 2 hours.
    Boil sugar, vinegar and water for 5 minutes and let cool.
    Squeeze cabbage dry and add remaining ingredients.
    Mix and refrigerate.
    Will keep for 6 weeks.
