Hot Dog Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck (12 lb.) green tomatoes
    1 medium size (2 lb.) head cabbage
    6 medium size red sweet peppers
    6 medium size onions
    1 c. salt
    3 pt. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickle spice
Preparation
    Grind tomatoes, add salt and let stand overnight.
    Drain, add finely chopped or ground peppers, onions and cabbage.
    Combine sugar, vinegar and spice that have been tied in a bag.
    Add liquid to vegetables and simmer 30 minutes.
    Pack in hot jars and seal.
