Uncle Charlie'S Drunkard'S Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. stew beef cubes
    bacon drippings or vegetable oil
    1 can mushroom soup
    1 can water
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in chunks
    3 to 4 carrots, cleaned and cut in chunks
    3 onions, peeled and cut in chunks
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 c. sherry (regular)
Preparation
    Brown meat in drippings or oil.
    Add remaining ingredients. Cook in oven at 350\u00b0 for 2 to 3 hours or at 275\u00b0 for 5 hours.
    Use the regular sherry, not cooking sherry, due to salt content.
