Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium sweet potatoes
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. syrup
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 stick margarine
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until half done; peel, cut and place in baking dish.
    Combine sugar, water, syrup and margarine; cook over low heat until it forms soft ball when dropped into cold water.
    Add lemon juice; pour over potatoes and sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Place in 450\u00b0 oven; cook for about 1 hour, basting potatoes with syrup.
