Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium sweet potatoes or yams
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Scrub and pare potatoes.
    Heat water, sugar and salt to boiling.
    Put in potatoes, cut in halves.
    Cover, reduce heat and cook slowly, turning potatoes often, until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
    Add butter, turning potatoes to coat well, and cook 5 minutes longer.
    Serve hot.
