Waffles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. melted shortening or oil
Preparation
    Separate eggs; beat whites for 2 minutes in a small bowl of electric mixer.
    Into large bowl of mixer, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
    Add milk and shortening or oil. Mix at speed 1 for 1 minute.
    Add beaten whites and mix at speed 1 for 1 minute.
    Bake on hot waffle iron until golden brown.
