Old-Fashioned Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 c. molasses
    3 c. plain flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and molasses.
    Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon and ginger.
    Add dry ingredients to first mixture.
    Add boiling water.
    This will be a very thin batter.
    Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Good with whipped cream or lemon sauce.
