Kahlua - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. instant coffee
    4 c. brown sugar
    2 c. boiling water
    1 vanilla bean, slashed
    1 fifth rum or brandy
Preparation
    Mix together coffee, water and sugar and let cool.
    Combine with vanilla bean and alcohol in a glass jar or bottle.
    Let sit in a dark place at least 4 weeks, the longer it sits, the better it gets.
    Shake now and then.
    Remove the vanilla bean and store in sealed glass containers.
    Enjoy over ice cream or in coffee.
