Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 unbeaten egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Mix sugars and shortening; add vanilla and egg.
Mix dry ingredients.
Add to sugar mixture.
Fold in nuts.
Roll in wax paper and refrigerate at least 1 hour before baking.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
