Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1/3 c. rye flour
    2 2/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. buttermilk
Preparation
    Grind the oatmeal in a food processor or blender until it is as fine as cornmeal.
    Sift with the rye, wheat, soda and salt into a large bowl.
    Stir in 1 1/2 cups buttermilk, mix quickly.
    Shape the dough into 2 rounds.
    Place into two 8-inch greased cake pans. Slash deep X across the tops, pour 1 tablespoon buttermilk into center of each cake.
    Bake 5 minutes in preheated 450\u00b0 oven. Reduce heat to 375\u00b0, continue baking for 30 minutes or until tops are lightly browned and bottoms are well browned.
    Cool on rack.
