Dad'S Birthday Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. oleo or shortening
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
4 eggs, separated
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. each: vanilla and almond

Preparation

Cream shortening or oleo and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg yolks, one at a time.
Beat thoroughly.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture, beating until smooth.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 25 minutes in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan or two 9-inch round layer pans.
