Rainbow Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    8 c. water
    1 can orange juice
    1 can pineapple juice
    1 (6 oz.) can lemon juice
    1/4 oz. almond extract
    1 (16 oz.) carton pineapple sherbet
    1 (16 oz.) carton orange or lime sherbet
    1 (32 oz.) bottle ginger ale
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water for 3 minutes.
    Place in refrigerator overnight.
    Mix water mixture, juices, extract and ginger ale. Stir until mixed.
    Add sherbet.
    Serves 25.
