Wassail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. apple cider
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    2 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
    2 oranges, studded with whole cloves
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. whole allspice
Preparation
    Heat all ingredients except oranges.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
    Strain punch and pour into punch bowl. Float oranges on top.
    Makes 32 (1/2-cup) servings, 85 calories per cup.
