Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 Tbsp. strawberry gelatin
    1 pt. strawberries
    1 (9-inch) deep dish frozen pie crust, baked
    4 oz. whipping cream, whipped, or 8 oz. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water and cornstarch; cook over medium-high heat until mixture boils and thickens.
    Remove from heat and add gelatin.
    Cool while preparing sliced berries.
    Place sliced berries in the bottom of the pie shell; cover with strawberry mixture.
    Allow to chill for at least one hour before serving. Top with whipped cream or whipped topping.
