Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 cucumbers
    ice water
    onion slices or clove of garlic
    dill (fresh or dried)
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    2 c. white vinegar
    1/2 c. pickling salt
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in ice water 3 or 4 hours.
    Drain.
    Slice or cut into strips.
    Place in sterilized jars, along with onion and a generous amount of dill.
    Combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt and bring to a boil.
    Pour over pickles and seal.
    Store in 70\u00b0 to 75\u00b0 temperature until cucumbers look transparent, about 3 weeks. Makes 3 pints.
