Circle-O-Rangers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/4 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon.
    Cream together sugar and shortening.
    Stir in molasses, water and coconut.
    Blend in the dry ingredients gradually.
    Chill dough for at least 2 hours.
    Roll out 1/3 at a time on a floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 7 to 10 minutes.
