Chocolate Brownies - cooking recipe

1 stick butter
2 (1 oz.) sq. baking chocolate
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
3/4 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan over low heat.
Remove from heat.
Add sugar.
Add 1 unbeaten egg; mix with a fork.
Add other egg; mix again.
Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; add to mixture.
Mix thoroughly.
Pour into an 8-inch square pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
