Monkey Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    5 to 6 c. flour
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. scalded milk
    1 yeast cake or envelope dry yeast
    1 c. mashed potatoes, unseasoned
    2 well beaten eggs
Preparation
    Put yeast in 1/2 cup water.
    Let set.
    Combine milk, potatoes, sugar, salt and shortening.
    Let stand until lukewarm.
    Add yeast, eggs and 1/2 cup flour and beat well.
    Add flour to make stiff dough.
    Knead well.
    Let rise to double.
