Southern Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. White Lily self-rising corn meal
    1-1/4 to 1-1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1 large egg, lightly beaten
    1 or 2 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat well greased 10-inch iron skillet in a 425\u00b0 oven. Blend all ingredients, stirring until moistened.
    Pour into preheated skillet.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
    When done remove from oven and let sit for about 10 minutes, then remove from skillet and serve.
