Buttermilk Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. unbleached white flour
1 c. corn meal
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Combine flour, corn meal, sugar, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.
Beat egg in smaller bowl and whisk in butter slowly until well mixed.
Whisk in buttermilk. Pour egg mixture into dry ingredients, mixing until just blended. Gently spoon into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.
Makes 1 loaf.
