Peanut Butter Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    48 chocolate kisses
Preparation
    Cream
    shortening and peanut butter.
    Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar
    and\tbrown
    sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg,
    milk\tand
    vanilla;
    beat
    well.
    Combine flour and creamed mixture.
    Roll dough into 1-inch balls; roll into 1/4 cup of sugar.
    Place balls 2-inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
    Remove from oven, press
    a chocolate kiss into center of cookie; return to oven for another 2 minutes.
    Yield: 4 dozen.
