Hungarian Gulya'S - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef chuck
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 medium onion
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 tsp. paprika
    3 carrots
    2 tsp. parsley
    1 qt. water
    4 medium potatoes
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Cut beef into 1-inch squares.
    Add 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.
    Chop the onion fine and brown in oil.
    Add beef and paprika.
    Let beef simmer in its own juice for 1 hour.
    Add sliced carrots and chopped parsley.
    Simmer for 1/2 hour.
    Add water, diced potatoes and remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.
    Simmer until potatoes are done; add black pepper.
