Pumpkin Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

2/3 c. chopped pecans
3 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. pumpkin
2/3 c. water
Preparation

Grease and flour a 12-inch tube pan.
Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves.
Cream together sugar and shortening; add eggs and mix well.
Add chopped pecans to dry ingredients, then add creamed mixture, folding together with pumpkin and alternating with water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
