Ingredients

3/4 c. oleo, softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. shredded carrots
1 beaten egg
2 Tbsp. orange juice
2 tsp. grated orange peel
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. pitted prunes, quartered
1/2 c. sunflower seeds
powdered sugar
Preparation

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
Mix carrots, egg, orange juice and orange peel.
Combine flours, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
Mix
into oleo mixture to blend thoroughly. Mix in prunes and sunflower seeds.
Drop from tablespoon onto greased baking sheets and flatten slightly.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned.
Cool on rack.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Yields 3 dozen.
