Ingredients

1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
Preparation

Sift flour with baking powder, salt and sugar into a medium bowl.
With rotary beater, beat egg.
Add milk and butter; beat until well mixed.
Pour this into dry ingredients; beat only until combined.
Batter will be lumpy.
