Ingredients

2/3 cup sugar
2 1/3 cup pink grapefruit juice
1/2 teaspoon grated grapefruit rind
2 cups champagne, chilled
Preparation

Combine sugar & grapefruit juice in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Let cool.
Combine grapefruit misxture, grapefruit rind, and cchampagne; pour into a 13x9x2 inch pan. Freeze until almost firm. Spoon muxture into a bowl, and beat at medium speed with an electric mixer, until slushy.
Return to pan Freeze 8 hours. Spoon into glasses & serve.
