Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. butter
1/3 c + 1 T milk
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Preparation

Combine butter, milk and light brown sugar in thick bottomed saucepan; bring to boil. Boil vigorously 1 minute. Remove from heat and mix in half the powdered sugar. Cool slightly before adding rest of powdered sugar and the vanilla. Add more milk if needed for consistency. Frost cake while still warm. If frosting turns granular before you finish, reheat it slightly, addig a few drops of milk. To get a smooth finish, dip flat metal spatula in hot water and smooth over the surface and sides of the cake, redipping spatula as needed to keep it hot,
