Penne With Pomodoro Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 T olive oil
    4 cloves garlic
    1 onion chopped
    1 can (32 oz) tomatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
    10 leaves basil
    1 lb penne
    extra basil leaves for garnish
    freshly grated parm cheese
Preparation
    in heavy skillet heat oil. when hot add garlic. cook for one minute. add onion. cook 8 minutes until softened but not brown. add tomatoes and stir well. simmer for 30 minutes. bring lg. pot of water to boil. meanwhile remove tomato mixture from heat and stir in basil, salt and pepper. add penne to water and cook 10 min. drain and stir in tomato sauce. garnish with basil and sprinkle with parm.
