Auline'S Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cup cornmeal (homeground, white, sifted)
2 heaping teaspoons flour
1 teaspon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespons sugar
1 egg
Enough sweet milk to mix well
1 to 2 tablespoons grease
Preparation

1. Mix all ingredients together except for grease. Make early and stir down when it rises.
2. Before cooking, put grease into a cast iron skillet and place skillet in oven while pre-heating to 300 degrees or until grease smokes.
3. Stir hot grease into mixture.
4. Pour into hot skillet.
5. Place skillet into oven and switch oven to broil.
6. Cok until brown on top.
